WHO IS YELP?
MEET THE CREATIVE TEAM BEHIND THE SCARES
KEVIN MCCAFFERTYYELP spawned from the mind of Kevin McCafferty in 2017. Kevin is a Media Teacher in the EHT, NJ. Over the last decade, he has led 17 theatrical productions for the school district as both the Director of the Alder Musical (most recently Frozen & Moana Jr) and Advisor of the EHTHS Stage Crew. He also serves as Theater Manager of the Fernwood Auditorium, where he oversees many of the township's concerts and recitals. YELP SIX will mark his ninth scripted film program, having written & directed the If Life Were a Musical trilogy and YELP 1 through 5. Most recently, Kevin accepted the role of Technical Director for the Gateway Playhouse’s summer youth program.
Before his time in EHT, Kevin spent several years in the NYC Off-Broadway community working on productions at Second Stage, Theater Row and New World Stages. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in both English (Stockton) and Theater (Temple University). “Though rooted in horror, YELP is a program that embraces acceptance of all and fosters a sense of family among its members. Yelpers come to realize movie sets are not scary environments, but filled with silliness and laughter. It is the acting, editing and movie magic that ultimately create those thrills.” |
